The decline of political participation and the lack of civic engagement often have been lamented as the greatest tragedy of our modern society.  Understanding the fundamentals of argument and the nature of public advocacy is one avenue to equip citizens with the necessary skills to become successful social advocates.  This course is meant to teach students the skills necessary to participate in the deliberate process of policy making and the tools to advocate effectively on matters of personal importance.
