Soy Protein Gold Nanoconjugates, with PTP 1B Inhibition Activity, for Metastatic Breast Tumor Therapy

Metastatic breast cancer remains a largely incurable disease. A recent statistic shows that after documentation of metastasis, the median survival time of the patient is 2 years. Thus, further advances in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer will require the development of new therapeutic modalities and novel approach targeting this disease. The utilization of sophisticated technologies such as nanotechnology in the design of new therapeutic agents will provide the future advances in treatment of patients with metastatic breast tumor. Nanoparticle-mediated therapy techniques treat the cancer at cellular level processes, and thus possess the potential to cure metastatic breast cancer.
