The Mizzou Advantage initiative provides networking opportunities and fiscal support to create new educational programs including graduate-level opportunities in sustainable energy, plant life sciences, big data and health regulatory affairs—as well as a new undergraduate major in digital storytelling. The initiative also coordinates undergraduate research teams and provides travel funds for undergraduate and graduate students to attend academic conferences.
The Mizzou Advantage initiative also sponsors training for individuals, community leaders, industry professionals and government officials. Additionally, faculty and staff are offered pathways to explore new areas outside their expertise through professional development awards. The initiative also supports those hosting high-impact conferences or bringing speakers in MU’s four areas of strength.
