Drug Could Improve Working Memory of People With Autism, MU Study Finds

University of MO researchers have discovered the prescription drug Propranolol may improve the working memories of people who have autism. Previously, this drug has been prescribed to treat high blood pressure, anxiety, and panic. The MU Thompson Center for Autism cooperated with researchers from the MU Department of Psychological Sciences, as well as the MU School of Medicine’s Radiology and Neurology Departments in this study.
