Featured Profile: Robin Harris


Robin Harris

Educator and leader Dr. Robin Harris promotes best practices to benefit clinicians and clients.

Harris has been a nurse educator for over a decade. She has primarily taught in the areas of obstetrics and medical surgical nursing, as well as pediatrics, which is a major focus for Harris. A trained Maternal Child Clinical Nursing Specialist, she has been a certified breastfeeding educator as well as a childbirth educator. Additionally, she is trained in systems leadership and has a particular interest in identifying methods to support student success including mentoring.

Along with teaching, Harris serves as director of the University of Missouri’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. The program combines online coursework with minimal on-campus visits; students in the program not only learn how to care for patients, but also how to bring best practices to the point of care. With Harris at the helm, the program constantly evolves to support new trends and learning methodologies. “I am truly privileged to be a part of the Sinclair School of Nursing, who continues to support innovative online instructional endeavors which set our program apart from the many online nursing programs available,” says Harris. Under her leadership, the DNP received a prestigious award of excellence from the University Professional and Continuing Education Association.

Dr. Robin Harris is an assistant teaching professor and director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the Sinclair School of Nursing.
